Hi, I am Lynsey the Events Manager for SSF UK and I am just starting my second year with Shared Services Forum UK.
Where were you 10 years ago?
I began my career working in Advertising and Marketing, which took me on a journey into Travel Planning and back to Advertising again. During my time in advertising I began working on Event Planning and knew this is where my passion lay.
I actually cannot believe how much I have crammed into the last 10 years, including bringing up my 2 wonderful children, running my own business and now working with SSF UK.
What do I love about Shared Services Forum UK?
I think the member organisations we have within the forum are so varied and each bring their own unique knowledge that can be shared amongst all our member organisations. We run various events throughout the year, including our quarterly network meetings, our 3 Leaders Events and the flagship Annual Conference. I feel very lucky to get to the chance to visit such prestigious locations and venues and then plan an event around it. I also get to meet with amazing and inspiring Speakers, all of whom have a great story to tell and bring our events to life.
Last year was my first conference, which we held it at Aintree Racecourse, from picking the venue, planning it, to then actually being in the thick of it, was just amazing. I cannot wait to start planning conference 2020.
We have an exciting year ahead celebrating 10 years of Shared Services Forum UK and I want to incorporate that into all our events though out the year. I want each of our members to have the best membership experience and finding and planning a fantastic event is a key part of that.
Where do I see myself in the next 10 years?
I hope to still be part of the continued success of the Forum, building our membership community and providing our members with the best networking opportunities, knowledge and overall experience, that they can take back and share within their own organisations.
