Last week we held an online wellbeing session with Speaker, Author and Director of Mind Over Mountains Alex Staniforth.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented global challenges and changed the business world as we know it. Uncertainty and fear have threatened our mental well-being and left employees in survival mode as we navigate the change. Through his adventure experiences and disasters on Mount Everest, Alex shared lessons on resilience to help us maintain our mental well-being, support each other, and keep moving forwards when we can’t always see the top of the mountain.
Objectives/takeaways from the session included:
1) Identifying the risks and consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic on our mental health
2) Moving forwards from surviving to thriving in uncertain situations
3) Exploring proactive strategies to maintain positive mental and physical well-being
4) Learning how to support others remotely who may be struggling, and increase early intervention with potential mental health problems
5) Challenging common misconceptions and stigma around mental health to encourage open conversations
Alex very kindly offered to send one of our lucky members a copy of his new book "Another Peak" and we are excited to announce the winner was Katie Duxbury from Bupa. A copy of Alex's book is on its way to you.
