Evidence shows that employers who prioritise health, safety and wellbeing can benefit from improved staff engagement, retention, productivity and performance – not to mention reduced claims. Effective cultural leadership comes from the top but what does good look like?
DAC Beachcroft are holding an event at their Manchester office October 18th. This event brings HR and health and safety professionals together, to look at what is required of them, and how they can work together to lead an effective health, safety and wellbeing culture.
Deborah Hely, Employment partner, will host the session where:
Rhian Greaves, Legal Director, will focus on the HSE’s expectations of an effective culture; covering management resource, commitment and visibility, good communication and a clear process for identification of issues. Rhian will also cover the legal obligations of senior leaders and how these are enforced.
Jenny Walker, Associate, will look at organisational culture, and how policies should reflect wellbeing, including the steps that are required to embed these policies and what to do if things go wrong.
They will also be joined by guest speaker Ian Cooke, Head of Corporate & Consumer Services at NEBOSH, (the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) who will provide practical advice on leading safety culture excellence.
