GETTING OUR MISE EN PLACE - SETTING THE TABLE FOR BUSINESS - TOM HOOD

This morning we kicked off day 2 of SSF UK Collaboration Week, welcoming Tom Hood, EVP Business Engagement & Growth, CIMA-AICPA & Business Learning Institute who presented an excellent interactive session providing the frameworks and tools needed to understand the latest finance trends and help us make sense of this rapidly changing landscape.

Mise en Place is the culinary term to, “have everything in its place” as you think about preparing a future meal. In this case we think about setting our table for the future post-pandemic. McKinsey called COVID the “Great Accelerator” as it accelerated and intensified all of the existing trends by five years or more! The question is will your business and strategy keep ahead of this accelerated pace of change. 

This session was full of interesting and useful insights and takeaways to help us:

• Understand transformation versus change and why we should be moving toward transformation
• Teach us critical components of transformation – mindsets, skillsets and toolsets.
