Yesterday we welcomed members to the Coop Group SSC in Manchester for the in person Purchase to Pay Network. It was the first event for new Co-Chairs Andy Powell and Lyndsey Byrne and they did us proud.
The event took place in the Coop's grand Auditorium and after welcome and introductions Clare Topping, Controls & Reporting Leader shared the journey at RSA on their successful use of recovery audits within Accounts Payable. This was followed with an insightful session exploring the case for automation, looking at the different types of automation and application to the P2P value chain and Andy shared an introduction to building a successful business case/coalition for change. Adam Crookes-Bowers, Finance Analyst complimented the session by sharing the recent automation journey at The Guinness Partnership and how it is continuing to develop and aid the business as a whole.
After the morning sessions it was great to breakout into smaller groups to reflect on the morning sessions, and share where we are in our automation journey, sharing experiences, challenges and successes.
After a fabulous networking lunch we spent the afternoon immersed in some interactive workshops exploring the following:
Culture of Compliance
Discussing the culture of compliance within the PO process and the challenges and successes experienced.
Change Management
Discussing the neuroscience of change and the application in a rapidly changing environment to increase the adoption of new practices, tools, and processes.
Controls & Monitoring
Sharing an approach to developing controls and monitoring in a Fast-Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) business to manage risk and improve financial performance.
It was fantastic opportunity for members to connect and share their experiences with each other.
Huge thank you to everyone that took the time to join us, to out Network Co-Chairs Lyndsey and Andy for all your hard work and planning, to Adam and Clare for your insightful contributions and to Coop Group for hosting us. The next event is taking place at Esker in Derby on September 3rd and we look forward to seeing you there!!!
