We are excited to welcome back Helen Garr the Wellbeing GP who is featuring at SSF UK Collaboration Week.
Dr Helen Garr is a GP and recognised expert and leader in the field of wellbeing and mental health. The Wellbeing GP training and keynote speeches receive excellent feedback with a call to make this training ‘mandatory for all in the NHS’.
Helen worked for many years as a GP at the University of Nottingham Health Service and is Medical Director of NHS Practitioner Health, a National service supporting NHS Staff with mental health and addiction difficulties.
Helen has a background in psychology and nursing prior to entering medicine and utilises her psychology interest to underpin her work as a coach and mentor for doctors.
She is a former Public Health England Clinical Champion for physical activity and a Director of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. Helen is also Nottinghamshire LMC Wellbeing lead and is a member of the BMA wellbeing stakeholders committee. Alongside her keen interest in wellbeing, Helen can be found running half marathons (slowly), walking her chocolate Labrador called Eileen and can be found on social media @TheWellbeingGP.
